To comply with the centenary background of this Society, We cannot adopt any hide and seek conception regarding the salary of the employees of the Postal Department. They had to face rather difficulties in maintaining the bare necessities of their family including social obligation with poor income .They were compelled to accept loan from outsider money-lenders, with high interest. To get rid of harassment from the money lenders the then Director General Charles Stuart Wilson FCI and other interested person formed “THE POSTAL CO-OPERATIVE CREDIT SOCIETY”. After few days of formation, Our Society was made its registration under Co-operative Societies Act, 1912 dated of 21st May,1915. All the non-gazette employees under the Administrative purview of Kolkata, Howrah, North Presidency Division including RMS Employees may enroll their membership.
The Society extends their support towards members by granting loan with the minimum interest. Besides that, the entire member/ex-member may avail the benefit of Holiday Home controlled by this society at Digha, Puri, Darjellling, Gangtok and Ra-Bangla with the members of their family. In every year, this society felicitates the wards of the Male/Female members who secure appreciable mark in the Madhyamik/H.S Exam/Joint entrance examination by granting financial awards with pleasant memento. Tour advance would be available beside the provision of three kinds of loan .we may appreciate our predecessors whose efficient contribution puts this society into such glorious condition. At present, the membership of the Society is 3829 and the working capital stands at rupees 21 cores.
Let us motivate jointly our society towards its development in its highest peak by concentrating new younger generation within its activities.
